Additionally, the AAAIL provides administration, technical assistance, and monitoring to ensure the effectiveness of these programs.Aging/Disability Resource Center
The objective of the ADRC is to be a “one-stop shop” for senior information and resources. ADRC is funded through the Administration on Aging. It is a collaborative effort between the Administration on Aging and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
The ADRC provides information regarding long-term care services, public assistance programs, and private businesses.
Once a referral is received, an intake worker will call the person needing services and complete a priority rating, and place that person on the waiting list, or an appointment will be set up depending on the program needed. Persons are prioritized by the greatest need.

In-Home Services
In-home services can support individuals and provide the assistance needed to allow seniors, veterans, and individuals with disabilities to live independently for as long as possible.
Elder Services
Elder services, largely supported by the Older Americans Act (OAA) for individuals aged 60+, provide a network of protection and support to maintain independence. Key services include legal assistance for rights and benefits, long-term care ombudsmen, abuse prevention, and Medicare counseling aimed at fostering health, safety, and autonomy.
Caregiver Support Services
Caregiver support programs provide vital resources to informal family caregivers, including counseling, training, education, supplemental supports, and respite care to reduce stress and improve quality of life. These programs help caregivers navigate caregiving challenges and access necessary community services.
Aging Council
The Gateway Area Development District (GWADD) is designated as the Area Agency on Aging and Independent Living (AAAIL) and is responsible for regional planning, coordination and advocacy on behalf of older persons.
