The Gateway AAAIL is part of a nationwide Network on Aging under the direction of the US Administration on Aging. The AAAIL is responsible for implementing a comprehensive delivery system of supportive and nutrition services as mandated under the Older Americans Act of 1965, as amended. The Gateway AAAIL administers programs and enters into contracts with local/regional service providers, which makes it possible for older individuals age 60 years or older to remain in their own home, with independence and dignity as long as possible. The Gateway AAAIL is governed by the GWADD Board of Directors with advisement from the AAAIL Council on Aging made up of seniors and those working with seniors throughout the five-county region.

Services that are available through the AAAIL fall into five broad categories; Information & Access, Case Management, Assessment, Community-based Services and Elder Rights.

When you have questions about a particular service or need help and do not know who to contact, the Gateway ADRC can provide you with information on what services that are available in our region. In partnership with Eldercare Locator, a nationwide toll-free directory assistance, you can find services anywhere nationwide
