National Family Caregiver Support

The National Family Caregiver Support Program is designed to supplement and support family caregivers in Kentucky. The program is funded by the Older American’s Act (Title III-E) funds. There is no fee for services offered through the program.

Eligiblity

To be eligible for services under this program, you must reside in Bath, Menifee, Montgomery, Morgan, or Rowan Counties and be able to answer yes to one of the following questions:

• Do you provide care to an individual 60 years of age or older?
• Do you provide care to an individual of any age with Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia?
• Are you a grandparent or relative, age 55 or older and the primary caregiver of a minor child age 18 or younger?
• Are you a grandparent or relative caregiver, age 55 or older providing care to an individual with disabilities age 19 to 59 (the caregiver in this case cannot be the disabled individual’s parent)?

Who does the Program Benefit / What are the Benefits?

Primary caregivers in Northeastern Kentucky receive the support they need in order to continue in their role as a family caregiver.

Services Offered Within the Program

Services include information to caregivers about available local services, assistance in accessing those services, educational opportunities, support group information, supplemental services (limited), and respite care to provide temporary relief from the responsibilities of full time care giving.
